MINING EXPOSITION IN TORONTO, ONTARIO
STAY TUNED FOR A POST-MORTEM INTERVIEW WITH DIRECTORS OF CEABEX
An incredible mining exposition was recently held in Toronto by CEABEX. Many delegates (approximately 55) flew in from Tanzania to attend this strategic exposition which was organized to enable a face to face meeting with mining experts in Ontario and also visit some supplier chain installations in the province. The overarching goal was to secure insights into modernizing the sector through technology transfer, financing partnerships and diaspora engagements. The delegates stayed as guests for a period exceeding 5 days to cover many aspects including training, site visitations and general R&R around the City of Toronto.
This exposition was financially supported and endorsed by the Tanzanian Embassy in Ottawa along with other sponsors. CRDB bank local to Tanzania is also instrumental in supporting the miners' entrepreneurial ambitions.
Delegates were given direct training in mining activities as well as exposed to several new technologies and extractive chemicals being used in the mining sector today. As well, the use of drone technology in site survey was also discussed at length. many aspects of the supply chain management were discussed.
This event was the first of its kind organized by CEABEX but the Tanzanian Embassy in Ottawa has provided assurances that more such events particularly geared for small and medium sized mining entrepreneurs in Tanzania will be organized to foster a better positioning of this sector as well as share critical knowledge in mining and technology between the two countries namely Canada and Tanzania. It provides an excellent opportunity to jointly share expertise, ownership and economic benefits that will accrue in the new eco landscape which both countries are facing.
